History - Realm of The Shadow
Enter the Realm of The Shadow or Tenebris, a world where harmony and peace have been achieved by a Leader called The Shadow. A time where all creatures were only separated by Families, but lived together on equal ground. Legends stated that The Shadow came to this realm to strike down a Red Serpent wanting to control and eat the whole world. The Shadow, with the help of the Original Families, defeated and imprisoned the Demon for all eternity. Only The Shadow could release such a creature back into the world. Since the creatures of Gaia helped The Shadow side by side, The Shadow decided to reward each creature apart of itself in order to grow and change rapidly at their will. In exchange, the creatures called The Shadow their Leader and devoted their Families only to them. The Shadow, despite being graced with a palace and riches from the creatures to dub him leader, never accepts the title, saying that now with apart of itself within all the creatures, they were all on equal ground. They were The Shadow's children and would never think of themselves as higher than them.
The Powers to Adapt and Change granted each creature the ability to grow in accordance to their surroundings and what they wanted to become. The children would also be given the choice to be a creature like their parents, or a different creature of a different Family. It was through their choice to assist The Shadow in their time of need that they were given the choice to change.
There were many Families that branched from each other and spread upon the Realm of The Shadow, ever loyal, and living their lives together.
Hana, born into the Family of Draconic-creatures that were reptilian and avian in personality and appearance. They ranged in all sorts of colors, personalities, and lived allover the realm. They branched into having wings, no wings, no arms, no legs, being serpent-like, more bird-like, etc. Hana's family was found within the mountains, giving them wings, and feathers for the harsh cold. While many of the Families revere the Draconis family, they are known for their Honor and Loyalty to The Shadow and the other Families. Their Powers were a marvel to behold and were seen as the main Protectors and Peacekeepers of the Realm.
This young Draconis made friends with many of The Families because of her yearning for adventure, community, and caringness. However, as Hana grew into an adult, the more the Families within the realms were restless and speaking ill-will of The Shadow. She and her parents did their best to quell the conflicts between Families and to clear up mis-information about The Shadow.However, some Families weren't listening and starting to call themselves The Light Seekers. They believed The Shadow is evil and has been planning to take all of their resources away so that The Shadow could have ALL the power. Battles and disputes rose between Families as The Shadow was trying to quell such discord.
The fighting had ceased, but not on good terms. Disappearances of children within each Family disappeared during the conflicts. Each of the creatures were searching for such children, until The Shadow revealed that they had found them. Outraged, the whole realm accused The Shadow of kidnapping them to eat them for their Power! The Families were rearing to take down their Leader after all and dubbed The Shadow a name that was cursed. The Cursed Name Cronus.
The Draconis family, strong and loyal to The Shadow, knew well that Cronus was set up by a Light Seeker. Being the only ally for Cronus, The Draconis fought against the Realm of Creatures, but failed. Before Cronus were to disperse and sacrifice themselves, they dispersed a gift onto the Draconis-a dark stone with most of their power. With it, Cronus would rest but the Draconis could seek out its power. It was the duty of the Draconis to keep the peace in the realm and keep The Families together. With the remainder of Cronus powers, he transferred the remaining "Magic" to the children brought to their palace and was finally killed by The Families.
With the powers of "Magic", the children of these Families would be the leaders in hope that they would guide their Families to peace and no conflict alongside the Draconis.
In the end, the Draconis Family dwindled significantly and fled into hiding. The rest of the Families that they died alongside Cronus and claimed victory on their land once more. However, the Draconis merely had to regroup, preserve their culture, and keep the secrets of the world and of Cronus. With such powers of their Beloved Leader, they were able to turn into other creatures at will and live with them to promote Peace. Just as Cronus had done.
Hana was devastated by the battle, but her caring, determined heart was still ready to create the once peaceful utopia once more.
In time, the Light Seekers started to establish more separated kingdoms for the families, that bred conflict and warfare between each other. The humans were the ones who reigned the most adaptable and most victorious. The child bearing the powers of Cronus had used such powers to take the magic of the other Families.
The creatures below the Humans grew lifeless and weaker, thus making humans more likely to use them as servants, food, pets, and anything they wished for them to be. People created kingdoms amongst themselves after conquering and demolishing the animal families, and soon humans began to fight amongst each other for power. The power of magic spread to more and more people amongst them-those people calling themselves Mages.
Hana had seen all of this history behold in front of her with her family. But she knew that they all had to rest and preserve themselves just in case the humans do come to hunt them down. For now, Hana lives her life with her Draconis family, now an adult, with her two children Sophia and Idris, protecting Secrets, Power, and their beloved leader who have achieved the impossible. Now, they merely observe and protect the realm in The Shadow's name.
But as the Humans grow more curious, more violent, and greedier for conquest, the more Hana worries that the end of the Draconis was near.
